Hey I know few Mechanic at the Mazda they have told that the Rx8 dual oil cooler lines leaks oil out, Also the check engine lights comes after 50 miles and the evap system is not working correct. To everyone who want's to buy make sure the dealer double the car before u buy. Mazda has this car out for 1 year in other Country and now they seem to have problems with them when it comes to Americadamn they don't test the car out first? Khris

a lot of news car have problems, even bmw and what not. the fancier a car gets, the more things there are to break.

my mom's mazda 6 needs to get something in the brakes fixed, she got something in the mail about it. her friend's new 350Z had a problem with the ABS and had to have it taken in and fixed.

engineering and R&D can only troubleshoot/predict so many problems; it takes a real car on the road to see what works sometimes.

All 1st year models will have problems as pointed out RX7Aggie. There are some things that just can't be predicted by computers and that's why they have service bulletins and recalls. I had 2 MR2's the 1st year 85 was in the shop every few months and the 86 "never" went in the shop. Ofcours my X g/f took the 86 from me and I got stuck with the 85.

Make sure the dealer what? Please, if they can not prove they have Roatry certified mechanics then you should not service your car there much less have purchased from them! They can BS and say they do but can they show your their certification? ...if not, it's the same bullshit as the RX7! Oh you need to buy a new engine couse your leaking oil and it's not because were stupid and put too much in.

But I wouldn't mind a RX-8 or having my damn 7 back (sweet motor lasted 30K)

Seriously guys ALL cars have some recall or another. R&D can only go so far. Real world testing is the only thing that can work out most or all of the bugs in a car.
