DOES IT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT A MILAGE COUNTER OR ANY POSSIBLE INFO REGUARDING WHY THE HP IS SO LOW?

Ditto! There is a theory in the RX-8 forum that the ecu has a built in break in period where the timing is retarded and the fuel map is pig rich therefore causing the new 8 to have close to 40HP less.

Supposidly the TII had this exact setup. It would turn off at an unbeleivable 20K miles which, if true, might take some owners many years to accomplish.

Personally, I dont believe a N/A would be set up like that but, when your grasping for answers I guess its a possibility.

the older cars had 20k mile switch and what it does is turn on a part of the air control valve, i wanna say split air but i'm not sure. it doesnt do anything for the maps.

the rx8 manual not only doesnt say why it would be low on power but it also doesnt say anything about the motor, except how to replace it
