sandiegorx-

This thread was almost a month old.

You like your 8, thats fine, I drove it and didnt like it

Cant afford it?? Did you not read when I wront I was prepared to buy the car, but I didnt like the way it drove???

Its only a few dollars more then the 6 I got, money was not the issue, but if the car was under $25,000 loaded then it would have been acceptable.

I dont think someone should have to put a exaust on a brand new car that was advertised to have a certain amount of horsepower and it doesnt. You might as well say to bolt on a turbo to get more horsepower.

It boils down to the car not delivering the goods, dont get defensive because you have one, more power to you, enjoy it.

I have an 8, it is plenty fast, for those who haven't driven it yet. And, uh the 6 is no where near this much fun, lets be real, it's a nice family car but it's no where near the same kind of car. I traded a 00 Maxima SE for the 8 and in my opinion if I wanted a traditional 4 door sports car I'd have stuck with another Maxima, better build quality than the 6 for sure and it's got loads of power and style... but anyway.

I'm hearing alot of talk here from people who don't actually own or drive the car or just can't afford it. I'll start posting some real footage of the car on the road and track against other cars and we'll see what comments arise. I'm not old and I'm not conservative. I have a ZZR1200 that I ride daily and it's more than fast for me if I really, really want to stomp someones *** on the freeway but that's not what a daily driven sports car is about now is it. I has great utility and is still sporty. It's my wife's daily driver, I can put a child seat in the back and still beat the pants off most cars on the road when the road gets curvey. And I've yet to get walked by an Accord.

Yes, I have put it up against other cars. I raced my buddy tonight in an 01 Vette with a Borla Cat Back and CAI. I got killed in the rolling start but the 8 did more than I expected from a dead stop. I'll be posting the mpegs soon.

Who pays sticker price for a car, are you new to the planet, if you can't get the car for 3k less than sticker you shouldn't be buying a new car. Christ the interest rates alone tell you how bad they need your business.

If you're looking for straight line power to 140 why do you drive a car? Get a motorcycle and a big one at that, but I'd guess from the tone of this discussion you'd go with some squid 600 with stickers and neon colors. If you want a sports car you need to look at all around sporting, that includes corners and this car handles like a dream. Yes it is fast and yes it is short on HP that Mazda claimed. It's still fast and the tested track times are still accurate, HP shortage or not. I'm in San Diego and more than willing to place my stock 8 against any other stock car in it competitive category. I've got the borla exhaust on order and hopefully he'll put out a header soon and to add to the sound and power band but until then I'm more than happy with my car. It's unique and more than luxurious for us. I hope to see you on the road..... albeit in my rear view!

Happy motoring!

actually I used to own a Kawasaki ZX-11

I just re-read your reply, I didnt have much time before as I was about to eat some dinner.

Newbie getting all defensive because he has a 8 and I dont like it.

Who cares what I like, I wasnt putting the car down, I was saying how I WENT IN TO BUY ONE AND DIDNT THINK IT DELIVERED THE GOODS

I dont need a car to feel cool or to impress others, Im wayyyy beyond that stage in my life. It would figure you had a Maxima, most Maxima owners around here are ******** who take that "4 door sports car" thing a bit far. They are usually clueless, which would explain yourself.

A header and a Borla, lol.... the 8 isnt turbo, you will be lucky to get 15-20 horsepower from that combo, well worth the loss of your warranty coverage and passing emissions im sure. I wasnt even aware there was headers and Borlas yet anyhow? You must be on the advanced list, they probably claim a 50 horsepower increase, and when you actually get 15 you wont know the difference anyhow, because you would have to be "new to the planet , ( Ill use the same terminolgy you used for me thinking I pay sticker for a car ) to think that the RX-8 drives like a 2900lb car with 247 hp anyhow.

I'm not getting defensive. I just wonder why people who don't own a car or drive it regularly would comment. I have owned an RX7 in the past but lets not talk has beens. IE ZX 11... please! Overweight pig that it was and still is. I think the Maxima was a great car. I'm sure it will never compare to whatever you drive as it's obviously your opinion that whatever Rob or DAPLAY (too cool) drive is the best of any possible car every. *******, you bet. I'm sure you are past that stage in your life, where you buy cars to look cool, since your in the stage of your life where you have senility. I look up to both of you as icons of the rotary and automotive world. You are too cool for me I was simply trying to convey that I am happy with the car and have yet to be walked by a 60 year old man when merging and if smart *** comments offend you..... tough ****.

Oh yeah, are your rx7s stock? I'd love to hear how you didn't add exhaust or turbos or any aftermarket parts. Losers.

I bought one too, and yeah I like it, but I know where it stands in the food chain. For $28K I couldn't find a better new car. Rob doesn't like it, that doesn't me you need to defend your ego like a jackass because you purchased one!

Dude, don't ******' pollute nopistons with your rx8forum.com attitude!

sandie- you are truly clueless, you came in here with your nasty comments, not me.

I have a full exaust on my RX-7, mainly because the OEM one rotted out. I had this exaust long before the import scene kicked up. Long before it was "cool" to own a import.

You resorted to the nastiness before me, remember that.

A ZX-11 isnt a sport bike by the way, its a sport tourer, only reason I bought it was because it was a comfortable bike when compared to the 600-900. Once again, you claiming I would buy a 600 with decals on it, I was merely pointing out that I did own a bike, and it wasnt a 600, matter of fact it didnt have a decal on it, I removed what little it had.

Its not that I dont like the RX-8, I love it, I just wish it had 50 more horespower STOCK, so this way I can extract another 50 horsepower or so from it, I shouldnt have to try to get back what Mazda should have made the car with in the first place.

One thing I do know, only way I would buy a RX8 is fully loaded, not with a nav system mind you, but leather and the works, and the prices I seen for those were $29,000-$31,000.

Ill give the car a year or 2 to improve itself, then maybe Ill sell my Lexus and use it as a downpayment towards a new 8.

Wow! Someone has some anger issues.

You came here slinging the **** pal what did you expect was going to happen in return? Now go back to RX8Forums and continue fightning.

Sometimes its better to hang back and figure out whos who and where people are coming from before you start flaming away.

I noticed you had almost nothing to say in all the pro-RX-8 threads.

We are all car enthusiests here whether it be RX-8's 7's or anything else. If some of us honestly dont like the 8 for its price then so be it. I like the 8 a lot just not for 33K plus US dollars.

Have a nice life.
