When I dynoed the car it ran 164WHP and almost all the other dyno runs I see are around 180-185. The local dealers are all idiots. They reflash and scratch their heads. They don't seem to really give a **** whether I have a problem or not so the dealer is always my last resort. Anyway the misfire was gone for awhile and then resurfaced again the other day. I guess I have to suck it up and go back to the dealer.

we have one thats doing this too, we cant get the car to do it, and the check engine light isnt usually on when we get the car, although there are misfire codes.

we replace the coils sometimes too.
Mine does it at high RPM when it's hanging. For example if you we're driving fast on backroads and going through a sweeper in 3rd gear and had it at 6k through the corner, it would start flashing. It's at the dealer now so we'll see what they say.

I got the car back from the dealer and it was reflashed.....again. They did however locate the source of a clanking noise that occured when lifting off the throttle, which is apparently from a broken driveshaft. I guess we'll see what happens.

I'm not a fan of warranty. However, I do like the warranty for items such as poor workmanship when installing a door panel and the it was crooked when I got the car or whatever. But buying a new car means yuo are buying the warranty as well. When yuo get your warranty revoked then it feels like they are overcharging u for your car...

Remember time = money. I'm sure you could be making more money fixing customer cars at 70 bucks an hour instead of fixing your own car for -70 bucks an hour.

if you are gonna spend that much to have a NEW car with no warranty. you might as well buy a FD and go crazy..... and have money to buy a nice daily driver too!

don't get me wrong i like the rx8 but i don't think everyone here has extra money for new carbon fiber driveshafts on a $30k car with a few thousand miles on it and other driveline parts

i being a tech was told to report if i see any mods or anything to my dsm but what i do not wish to see or dont see is unreportable right . so lets say a rx-8 comes in with a intake , exhaust , header or what not or even n20 or co2 , i did not see it cause that stuff can all be taken off when a real repair for warrenty is needed. just dont let my dsm know.
