Hi, just want to test water here for my collected car: a black 1989 GTUs with Pacific glass sunroof(the rare of rare).

I bought this car a few years ago all the way from CA to MD, and really want to keep the car. However, I haven't been able to put too much time on it. my wife suggested to let it go, because she wants me to spend more time with her, rather than the car. so, I am trying to find a good home for my baby here. :-(

1989 Black GTUs(you guys know how many they were made, especially in black)

about 170k miles on the chassis, 5 spd.

exterior:

straight body with no damage. original paint still in good condition for the age of the car. 8.5/10 range. few dents here and there, but no major. spoiler, aftermarket foglights.

interior:

8/10 condition. everything is instact, in good condition, except armrest console lid is broken, original driver seat has normal tears.

underhood:

motor is out, because oil seal was broken. the car starts and runs when I bought it, but smokes lot. I pulled the block out of the car including intake, harness, oil cooler, radiator, etc. and I started cleaning the engine bay. most of the bay is nice now. (ALL parts will be include with the car sale. most of them are in the trunk. I have cleaned the rotor housings, still in good usable condition.)

the car has stock spoiler; all switches are working; TII rims with low profile front tires, still good for another 5k miles or more; has A/C installed; rount taillights still in good condition. OEM clutch/plate still good; OEM exhaust still good;

the goodies on the car:

Pacific glass sunroof

(I believe many of you know how rare it is. if not, do a research)

additional aftermarket alarm

additional shifter lock installed to make sure no one can steal the car.

aftermarket foglights

MOMO steering wheels

aftermarket shifter ****

aftermarket sidemarkers

now, the known defects on the car:

rebuild engine

windshield has a crack near the wiper area. it started with real small crack.

armrest console lid

driverside door handle is loosed, but still open/close door w/o problem

since I have done most of the dirty work for you(pulling out the engine, and cleaned the bay), obviously you are saving a lot of time/money here. if you have a spare running engine, you can get it running in less than half day.

I really want to sell it to a person who can appreciate it, and take good care of it. I can assist with shipping issue. but shipping will be on the buyer, just like what I did when I bought it. :-)

Very nice car, and really interested but looking for running FC. I stay in southern virginia Hampton Roads area. Do you know if engine still runs and if so will you be willing to put back in?

sorry for repeat post but edit did not work.

Very nice car, and really interested but looking for running FC. I stay in southern virginia Hampton Roads area. Was the oil seal the only thing wrong with the engine? What does it cost to replace seal? Does engine still run and if so would you be willing to put back in?
