I bought the car from the second owner back in May '04. At the time, it had 58,000 miles and had 2000 miles on the Mazda remanufactured engine. He had just broken the car in, and he broke it in properly. He described the break-in process he used and I was satisfied and trusted him, so that's why I bought the car in the first place. I have only put 13,000 miles on the car in the 2.5 years I've had it. I only drive a few days a week, which explains the low miles. It doesn't smoke, it idles nicely, and drives smoothly. It has also been garaged its whole life. I was planning to keep this car for my whole life and buy an additional car to drive daily, which is why I have kept such great care of it. However, something came up and I need a bigger car that can seat more than two. I have documentation for most of the parts (at least the bigger ones).
ENGINE: (all modifications done when the engine was replaced)
Stock Mazda remanufactured engine (all documentation included)
Full non-sequential turbos
Pettit downpipe
Koyo radiator
Lightweight flywheel
Manual boost controller (boost set at 8psi for engine longevity)
Condition: Runs basically perfect. Eats absolutely zero coolant and about a half quart of oil every 1000 miles. No oil or coolant leaks. It has never seen above 3000 RPMs if not fully warm. Oil changed with Castrol GTX 10w-30 every 3000 miles. Coolant flushed/plugs changed every 6000 miles. Passed smog with flying colors last month.
INTERIOR:
RX-8 5-speed shift ****
Greddy 52mm water temp/boost gauges in center speaker pod
"Fan mod" linked to foglight switch
Condition: Very good, but the driver's seat left bolster is warn, as usual. No squeaks or rattles. Carpet is perfect but driver's side floormat is worn. A couple small skuffs on the headliner and back of seats.
EXTERIOR:
'99 OEM RX-7 front lip
fd3s777's fixed headlight kit
OEM front/rear mudguards
Condition: Paint is in very good condition overall. It has been waxed using Zaino regularly. There is one very small door ding on the passenger rear corner panel, but no noticable scratches.
MAINTENANCE:
Everything listed here has 14,000 miles or less:
New stock clutch
Fuel filter
IAT sensor
Knock sensor
All vacuum hoses
All engine coolant hoses
Radiator hoses
All bolts and crush washers on turbo coolant and oil lines
Exhaust and intake manifold gaskets
