Basically, I bought the car as a runner. I drove it for several months and it was a real trip, but it had rust problems. The rust was showing past the trim on the front and rear windshields, and it drove me crazy. It honestly ruined the car for me. I took the car all the way down to nothing, minus the dash structure and wiring harness (harness was pulled in from engine bay and trunk, and balled up at the passenger's seat. It's still routed through the dash and is complete).

Since I was living in an apartment, I stored the car, put away all the trim, interior bits, glass, etc. at my parents house and started collecting parts. I got an internally regulated alternator, found some interior pieces that were nicer than mine on ebay, and began rebuilding the suspension. The rear end was removed, painted, new bearings installed, S2 small-bearing LSD installed, and put back under the car. I think the drum hardware is back on the axle and the rear calipers, rotors, and brackets are still in boxes after being powdercoated. I rebuilt the calipers, since you can't bake the rubber seals, but the rears haven't gone back on. I then rebuilt and painted the steering box and front end, with all-new tie rods and ball joints sourced from Australia. Ditto for the all-urethane suspension bushings. The shocks and struts were shipped off to Koni after they told me that they haven't seen them in years, but should still have seals and valves to rebuild them with. They did a one-off job for me and rebuilt the adjustable shocks and struts.

I then reassembled the front end, including the new powdercoated calipers, and installed the rear shocks. That's how the car sits now, without the brakes plumbed and all the suspension under her.All the interior is in my guest room upstairs, well-protected from tools, animals, etc. The stainless trim (very little was actually chromed) is hanging high on the walls of my garage and shop, so it won't get damaged.

The hood is perfect, but I've also got a spare junk hood that I wanted to cut an oval in and poke the Weber up through, but that's still a good way down the road. When the car was being trailered back from the body shop, it came off the trailer, and the last corner to leave was the front-left. As the wheel came off the trailer, the car came down and bent the left fender and valence, both 15-minutes old. They're both salvageable, but I've sourced a new fender as well so the body shop can choose to either repair the current or prep and paint the new.

I've got the exhaust stored out of the way, but it's also complete, down to the NOS Racing Beat exhaust gaskets. I wanted to run independent Air/Fuel mixture gauges in the header, so it's been drilled and welded to accept them, then powdercoated with a chrome-looking ceramic finish. If you don't want to utilize the O2 sensor bungs, you could either stick in used O2 sensors, or replace with a plug.

The battery tray was removed from behind the front-right high-beam headlight for three reasons. 1 - it looked ugly there. 2 - it makes room for a turbo, and in the perfect spot for a rotary turbo 3 - weight and balance. I never intended it to be a drag car, but with a car this light, it would be sweet to relocate the battery to the trunk.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. The short answer is that the whole car is here, with clean title and all door locks the same, it just needs to be screwed back together. I've even got parts manuals and service manuals that are scanned and hosted that I'd be happy to share with you.
