I have a 1988 Turbo II that I may be selling in the next few weeks, not sure if I have to yet but I want to get an idea for what it is worth.

It is in mint condition almost outside (one small dime size dent on the passenger rear), shiny paint, almost always garaged, 84,026 original miles on it. Grey leather seats in good shape except the bolster on the drive seat is a bit worn from getting in and out. Everything works indside, no cracks on any of the plastic, grey dash with black plastics, sunroof, factory floormats, very clean inside and out. Almost brand new tires all the way around, the wheels are in great condition, no major knicks or scratches.

The motor blew in it and I pulled it out so the car has no motor in it but still has the tranny and all the other misc. in it. I took the block apart to see what was wrong and one of the rear apex seals was no good. The tranny and everything worked great before hand and are still in the car. It has a RB Exhaust on it and the main Cat has been replaced with a straight pipe.

What do you think the car is worth with no motor in it? or with the motor but not in it? or with a newer Jspec S5 motor in it? I have all of these options, I am trying to see what the car is worth. I may sell the car as a rolling car and part the motor out. Or I may sell it with the motor but not installed or I may buy a Jspec motor and put in it. Which ever way will make me the most profit. If anyone has any idea about what it is worth, please feel free to post. I may have to sell it in the next few weeks so I just want to get an idea of what to expect when I go to sell it.

I will try and get some pics up on here later.

Thanks,

Scott

With no motor if its what you describe I would say $2000 tops.

Arguments sake would say how does one know for sure the drivetrain and

everything else is good in the car if it doesnt run. If it was at least running badly you could have gotten more for it in my opinion.

I am also willing to install a Jspec motor in it. I will try and get some pics up on here later, but it is in almost perfect condition. I am just testing the waters for now, but more than likely I will have to sell it.

if you put the engine in , dont bother saying its a J-spec, just say it has a

replacement engine. Some people may get weary of a J-spec.

I think the only way you'll get any real money out of it is to get it in running shape. For as nice as you described it, w/o engine, IMO it's only worth 1k, maybe 1.5. A J-spec will set you back about a grand, but the car s/b worth at least 3k, maybe more. If you could get 2k for it w/o engine, go for it.

if it was an 89-91 TII you could get $2k-$3k with blown engine..... 87-88's go for alot less. $500- $2k typically.....

Still trying to figure a price Scotty?? For anyone interested, I went and looked at it yesterday...******* beautiful! It's so clean, garaged for most of its life I think is what you said right scott? It's super clean, just needs a motor...which I don't think really, is that big of deal. Because, if someone buys the car and does and SHOULD be done, a stock motor, or stock replacement isn't really worthy anyway...this would be perfect for someone looking for a NICE transplant car.
