what's bullshit?

That your bondo'd, spray-painted, beater is worth 2800$, that's what.

That, and it's not even a GTU.

what makes it not an 88 GTU?

Red interior. 88 GTU had blue.

Normal seats. 88 GTU had TII seats.

Sport aero package. 88 GTU had TII aero kit.

Oh, and one other thing, about your quote on the KBB value... I ran the numbers for a Private Party sale, on both the 88 GTU, and the 87 Sport...

First off.... the 88 GTU, in Fair Condition, with the mileage you have, is worth 3150. So, you're misquoting the value, downward.

Secondly.... the values you quoted actually are the correct values for an 87 Sport.

I think you have some explaining to do, here.

I also think you owe the board an apology. Starting with me and Tessai.

also..... I ran the condition estimate, based on what you've told me about the car.... and, from what I can see, in the pictures...

the KBB website appraises your car at POOR. Not "definetly above fair", as you stated.

Whats kinda funny is, I've been looking to pick up an '87 sport if I were to get another FC.

I really want an FB though =/.

I think the GTU having a TII LSD is a myth, it might have LSD, but its not the TII rear.

either way I cant see how you would not be sure of the year of the car?

he's sure of the year, all right.... he's just got an 87 Sport that he's trying to make some extra cash off of, by trying to sell it as a rare and valued 88 GTU.

As for the LSD..... to my knowledge, Mazda only made one Lim Slip rear end for the S4 RX-7.

1- ...since a dented fender and paint mean the car has severe mechanical issues and rust in need of repair.

2- who said i wasnt sure of the year of the car?

3- im not misquoting the kbb price unless it has changed in the past week or 2. im not stupid. i know how to work it. its not always the same if you dont pick the same options. you dont know what options my car has. not to mention just your zip code can change the quoted price.

4- im not apologizing for anything because you're a ******* idiot. everything i put in my post is 100% truth and nothing else. you're just overanalyzing the situation. just cause its a GTU doesnt mean it must be exactly like all the other gtu's. it doesnt matter though, i guess you win. im not going to return to this site. i wouldnt want to be any place that you reside. i really hope some day you realize that the world would be better off had you been aborted.

Wow. You sure can talk a lot of ****.

Let's see, here...

1. Spray-paint, over the whole body, and covering up sidemarkers. And an eyesore of a dent, in the fender, caused by the door (which tells me, it prolly has some frame damage... doors don't just all of a sudden start mangling quarter-panels), and lots of bondo. Maybe in redneck-ville, that might be a fair condition car.... but, to everyone else, it's poor. A car doesn't need to just have mechanical problems, to be considered poor condition. It's also high mileage. Average milage for an 87 is about 95000.

2. You did, when you called it an 88 GTU, then said it was originally purchased in 87. That's impossible, for an 88 GTU, but very possible, for an 87 Sport.

3. I know how KBB's website works, guy.

4. Yes.... "just cause it's a GTU" certainly does mean that it's just like all the others. Every feature of the 88 GTU was standard on all of them. The 88 GTU was like an NA version of the 10AE, except there was a lot of selection in exterior color on the 88 GTU. But, rest assured.... no 88 GTU ever had the 87 Sport aero package, or a red interior. They all had TII bucket seats, blue cloth interior, TII aero parts, and all of them were 5-speed.

The options weren't too terribly optional... all 88 GTU's had sunroof, power steering, alloy wheels, and the sport suspension.

Aborted, huh? That's nice.

You said just about everything I was going to say, except I would add:

1) Mazda made 2 s4 LSD rears - The TII and the N/A for the GTU and GXL.

2) His mom should have swallowed.

Considering the wing on the car only came on sport models, and requires different holes to be drilled to mount (it mounts from the rear, about the taillights, vs on top behind the hatch like all other wings) its an 87 sport. Either you were lied to, or you're lying to us.

Want to prove it once and for all? Snap us a pic of the VIN on the car. Running a carfax should tell us if its a GTU or Sport.
