-1987 Mazda RX-7 TURBO II

-Silver Exterior

-Blue Interior

-5 Speed

-144,XXX Miles with 120,000 miles on engine/turbo

Modifications:

-Cone Filter

-Thunderfabrications 3inch downpipe/midpipe

-TeamFC3S Competition HKS Carbon TI Cat-back (3 inch piping with HKS Carbon Fiber muffler with titanium tip)

-Mazdatrix Stainless Steel braided oil cooler lines.

-Mazda Competition motor mounts

-ACT 4 puck clutch with Heavy duty pressure plate (new throwout bearing and pilot bearing)

-HKS Turbo Timer (old style…not hooked up at the moment)

-Two Sets of rims:

-1987 Turbo II Rims with old 205/40/16 series tires

-1984 Turbo 300ZX Rims with crappy 225/50/16 tires

(Both need new tires. The Z wheels are lighter and have more of an offset for an aggressive stance)

-Heavily ported wastegate on series 4 (87-88) turbo

-Brand new Manual Steering rack

-Twin Scroll removed

-Bare-block mod

-Throttle body mod

-A/C Removed (completely...but all electrical connections are still intact)

-Heater Core Removed (completely…but all electrical connections are still intact)

-Sound deadener in the hatch removed

-OMP removed, and using premix (more on this later)

-Smoked Turn Signals

-Dual Alternator Belt pulley (blue)

Problems with the car: (NOTE: I am listing ALL of the problems…no matter HOW small or insignificant they are)

-Rust around rear wheel wells

-Car has been repainted at one point, and some is chipping off…otherwise good paint

-O2 Sensor is not connected, but this does not affect WOT performance. Easy fix.

-Brakes need TLC. The pads are 3 years old, and the rotors could use a turning. The whole system could use a flush. (I may do this before sale)

-The ported wastegate is too big a port. I ported bigger then the flapper door itself, and this causes big turbo lag, and lower than normal boost. If you weld a bigger flapper door on, this would be an excellent wastegate. I did the porting because S4 turbo wastegates tend to creep a lot of boost with open exhaust.

-Slow oil leak around oil pan.

-Lots of interior pieces missing (like vents etc…)

-The transmission is on its way out, but still very driveable. The 2nd to 3rd gear synchro is not real good, and 4th gears makes some interesting noises at partial throttle. A good used Turbo II transmission will go for around $150-$200.

Other Misc things worth noting

-The ACT 4 puck clutch tends to be a little different to get used to. It is basically on off, but I have become so used to it that I can drive it like a normal clutch. This clutch and pressure plate combo can withstand over 512 ft/lbs of torque.

-The exhaust is not too loud at all, and has a nice tone to it.

-I have MANY extras that will come with the car including: the two sets of wheels, extra Turbo II Driveshaft, extra misc bolts and nuts, extra random parts.

-Redline tranny fluid is being used at the moment.

-I have the Carfax for this car.

-Clean Title

-Before the cat-back, I ran a best of 14.9 at scribner with A LOT of wheel hop

This car would be absolutely perfect for anyone wishing to make a weekend warrior out of it. Road Racing, drag racing, Autocross, it could be awesome at all of these with some work. I would not recommend this car for a daily driver in its current state… HOWEVER, it would only take about $150 in used parts (full A/C system, heater core and vents, and carpet) to make it a great daily driver.

I’m asking $2500 OBO. Please do not email me, as I don’t ever check that. PM me for more info.

I talked to the kid yesterday, but he didn't really give me an answer. I'll bring it up again tonight.
