Here's the deal, I'm looking for a replacement Rx-7 for my younger brother.



The other night he was at his friend's house and his buddy for some reason parked my bro's Rx-7, that he just put on the road a week ago, in their barn. Well, they're not too sure what happened but their best guess is that the mufflers got so hot that they set the hay in the barn on fire and the whole thing went up! My brother realized what was happening ran outside to get his car. Well, as he was running towards it the gas tank blew. Everything is destroyed. Barn came down, his car is ruined, lost his paycheck, clothes, everything. All that was left was the engine, some sheet metal, and a barely recognizable license plate. I feel so bad for him.



That car was his baby and he only had it on the road for 4 days. As best I know it was a 1987 Rx-7, 5-Speed, 2 seater. Don't know much about it otherwise. Anyways, I'm in upstate New York and looking for someone selling one that's well, relatively close to me.



I'm just looking for an Rx-7 with the body in reasonably decent shape that runs alright. He bought his for 750 bucks and it was in excellent shape, virtually no rust and ran beautiful. Unfortunately I dont have much cash and am just looking to get him some sort of replacement so if anyone has one they'd be willing to part with that's decent in the $500 range, please message me!!

Its not the muffler its the exhaust pipes prior to the cats that probably started it. The same thing happened in my seven while driving down a road with a grassy middle. Luckily i smelled the smoke and drove off before it went up. Sucks man, seriously sucks
