1993 VR R1
#1
I have a 1993 red R1 that has 69,069 miles on the chassis. I am the 3rd owner. The man I purchased the car from purchased the car from the original owner back in 1994.
When I got the car the engine was blown. The air separator tank cracked and the coolant leaked out causing the car to overheat. When I found the car I could not believe it. It was in incredible condition and the only modification to it was a boost gauge. It had EVERY single stock part that came with the car. To make sure the car would be repaired correctly I paid an arm and a leg to have it sent to Pettit in West Palm Beach, FL.
Vehicle is currently in Florida.
Here are the things that are not perfect;
There is a scrape under the rear right fender that can only be seen when you are underneath the car.
When the car was repainted they sprayed I guess there was a place under the hood that should have not been painted. I haven’t figured out where from the pictures but if you are genuinely interested the car I am sure you are going to call Cam anyways. Just ask him.
The car needs tires. I decided to leave that up to the new owner too as I am picky when it comes to tires. I have a set of stockies with good tires. If you are interested in the car and don't care about getting top of the line tires we can work something out so you can have those.
The carpet/seats could use a good shampoo’ in. The interior is in fantastic shape it is just dirty. Please don’t give me a hard time about this. I would do it but the car is a couple thousand miles away. If the buyer is in socal I would be happy to do it for you. There is a small 1/4in incision on the drivers seat.
I have receipts for this restoration. Everything that has been done to the car has been documented. I will make the receipts available to those who are interested just PM me your email. Here is a list of some of the things that were changed that I feel are worth noting:
· Turbos- The old ones were questionable; I shelled out for a very nice set of used turbos with no cracks. Cam then partially rebuilt them.
· Fuel pulsation dampener and Fuel pulsation regulator- I had them replaced with new parts ordered from Malloy.
·Pettit AST- although I love an original car protecting the engine is important. The engine first blew on this car because of a cracked AST. I don’t want it to happen again
· Pettit intake- Cam put one on my R2. It made me a believer so I purchased one for this car
· Pettit Downpipe- I know it is not original but the heat that comes from the stock precat is too damaging to parts under the hood, not to mention it can clog and fry you engine. If you want an original one I have one.
· New paint- Shines like its still wet
· New brakes- The pads and rotors have been replaced
I have about 40 other parts that have been installed including new brake and clutch master cyl, new ignition coils, new radiator tubing, new oil metering lines, new clutch parts, new fuel pump etc just to name a few. There has been so much time and effort put into this car and I want it to go to someone who will appreciate it. This is a beautiful original R1 that has been done right, and an Rx-7 that will last. I am asking $15,900 for her.

My god what a sweet car wish i could afford it. If u ask me its in perfect condition
Thank you!
She runs just as good as she looks
I hope this car goes to someone who really appreciates her. It is hard enough finding a nice, clean, original, low mileage FD, let alone one that is an R-model. This car still blows my mind, and I own it.
