I have a freshly rebuilt turbo which I received back today from Majestic Turbo in Waco, TX. It's a GReddy T78 that's been modified with a Garrett GT42 compressor wheel and a seven degree clipped turbine. Will make T88 level hp with the spool of a T04S on the right engine. This turbo has made over 500 rear wheel hp at 20psi on 100 octane with a street port 13BREW motor without the clipping. Boost response should be improved as this change was made after my feedback on the original modification. If interested, send me a private e-mail at rx7tt95@aol.com. I will include a copy of the receipt with the date of rebuild on it. Pictures are available. It'll bolt right in place of a standard GReddy T78 without any modifications. I've polished the compressor cover as well. I'll post images tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday).
Thanks! Michel |
Here are a few images. I didn't have any tools at work so I could not take the turbine housing off. There is a shot through the back of the housing where you can see some of the work done. The turbine was clipped AND lightened for much better response.

Turbine sans turbine housing and the polished compressor cover. Make me an offer I can't refuse!
|
WOW that's a beast.
|
Yeah I used this turbo for a while with the standard turbine and the car would go sideways in third gear at 85mph. Boost comes on strong about 4,100rpm with full boost by 5K. But that was BEFORE the turbine mods on a so so engine which I just tore down. I found that NONE of my side seals had been clearenced properly and there were a host of other issues as well. So on a healty motor with a divided manifold (mine was undivided) I can see this thing easily hitting 20psi by 4K rpm. It'd make great power at 15psi though. Compressor map is perfect for a street ported motor. Turbine housing is a 33D, standard RX7 turbine housing.

Forgot to mention, it comes with a SIX MONTH warranty from Majestic.
|
You are not by any chance selling the down pipe with it are you Michel?
|
Actually no. N-Tech spent an entire day modifying the rear turbine housing on my GT4082 and the T78's downpipe to get them to work. Long story. But the downpipe has been modified and can't go back easily. I do have a flange to be used on a downpipe. Flange mates to the T78's rear turbine housing and would need to be welded to the downpipe. There should be someone that can do a downpipe in your area. We can get them done here for about $250.

Is it oil cooled?
|
It's oil cooled like all of GReddy's products.
Michel |
how much you asking?
Rodney |
I'm also curious how much you are asking. Let me know soon please.
|
I'm "asking" $1,200 which would include shipping via Fed Ex. I'm not willing to come too far off of that price due to the interest in the turbo and the fact it cost about $800 to do the upgrade. It wasn't cheap! The turbo was also precision high speed balanced (dynamically).

If anyone has a question about the turbo, send me an e-mail at rx7tt95@aol.com. I don't get any sort of a notification from nopistons via e-mail when there's a new post to this thread. So if I don't get back to you quick enough, shoot me an e-mail!

Make me a reasonable offer!
|
hey how much you want for the t78 flange you were talkign about for the downpipe? i'm in need of one, if you dont want to post here feel free to PM me.
free bump as well on a great turbo./ thanks, kevin. |
I'd rather keep it with the turbo unless it's going to someone who already has a T78 kit (in which case they wouldn't need it). But for those that don't have the kit and just want the turbo, it's one less piece they have to worry about purchasing to complete their kit. If I sell it to a T78 guy, I'll let you know. I think I'm going to put it up on E-bay shortly if no one offers to purchase it.

did you have the flange made or did you buy it seperately or something?
im considering just doing a v-band but a flange would be so much easier. kevin. |
It was provided by Majestic Turbo.
