Im selling the aux bridge motor I build, and had in my GTU. There is nothing wrong with the motor. 15K miles, and it runs very strong. The primary and secondary intake ports have a large SP, the auxillary ports are bridge ported, and the exhaust is race ported. It had hardened stationary gears, modified for the type 2 bearings that are installed. The front and rear oil pressure regulators are shimmed for ~95 psi. All seals were replaced during the rebuild/porting.

$1600 plus shipping. Pics will be up as soon as I get them uploaded. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

The last pic is the ported primary port on the left with a stock one on the right for comparison.

Yes, just the short block. I have a S5 front cover on it now, but if its going in a S4 car, Ill swap on a S4 front cover.

It has oil mods and new bearings that are good for 10K, but the rotating assembly wasnt rebalanced. It is a matched rotating assembly from mazda, so it should be fine to 9500 or even 10K on a limited basis. I would have no inhibitions with taking it to 9500 rpm occasionally, or maybe even 10K, but I cant recommend anyone else do the same. Its just me covering my *** if something were to go wrong. Keep in mind, any motor, no matter how well built, will go through tremendous stresses at 9500 or 10K, and its much more likely to fail than at 8500 or 9K.

As you can see, the bridge is pretty thick, so that will never be an issue. The lifespan will be directly proportional to how you drive, but at worst, it will only be slightly shorter than a SP running the same rpm's.

If you plan on running it above 8500 rpm, i would highly recommend a scattershield for the clutch. You dont want to have a clutch explode at 9500 rpm.

So the life expectancy if I dont really take it over 8500rpms ever (I see no need to) will be around 100k (my stockport GSL-SE has 183k original).

I have heard that with bridgeports that it cuts into the water seal and therefore shortens life considerably, Ive heard they are good for maybe 30k

What intake setup were you using? I guess I would have to use a carb because of the non upgradable ecu's in GSL-SE's. I know it will fit with my front cover so thats not really an issue.

How much power were you making?

How streetable is it? i.e. No power under 4k like ive heard or what? The reason for all these ???'s is because I have only seen 4 port bridge ports and am trying to understand how these work.

Any pics of it in your car and details of the setup would be appreciated.

From my last post it seems like I am just asking questions

"The reason for all these ???'s is because I have only seen 4 port bridge ports and am trying to understand how these work."

I am interested in buying it b/c I am looking at about $1800 to rebuild and streetport all installed and everything though. But if I could pick this up and slap a carb on it along with a few other things I would much rather have this more powerful setup... if it will last me for at least 50k miles.

First off, there are different kinds of bridge ports. Mine does not interfere with the water jacket, therefore does not adversely affect engine life. Like I said, this engine will last comparably to a SP engine.

This motor came out of my 90 GTU. I was using the stock EFI and intake manifold(which didnt work so well...). The gsl-se ecu will have problems with this motor. The injectors cant support the power the motor is capable of. You could switch to a S4 fuel injection setup, but a carb would be much easier, and make more power. Unless youre just dead set against a carb, that will be your best bet. It will make the most power out of this engine. I dont know for sure because i never ran the motor with a carb, but I would expect the low end to be drivably, at worse. Youre not going to confuse of for a V8 with 700 ft lbs of torque, but i doubt you will have any major complaints. Like I said, I did put 15K miles on it without any complaints.

It should be perfectly streetable with a carb. 1st gens are light, so thats definately a plus. You will want a pretty free-flowing exhaust, as this motor does have a lot of overlap. It is more sensative to backpressure than a stock or street port.

Heres a pic of the engine before I installed it.
