how does it sound in comparson to others?
I was running the stock CPV with an external check.
You could barely hear it, and I was getting compressor surges.
This style valve can handle more flow and it fixed my compressor surge problem.
I have a boost control switch.
The BOV is set on the soft side.
On low boost (5 PSI) you can hear it.
If you rev it in neutral, you can hear it.
On high boost (11 PSI) everyone hears it.

Do you have any issues with the BOV venting open, or does the SAFC have correction for when it blows off? I had a similar one on my Turbo II except it was the size of a beer can and when it blew off the WORLD heard it, but my A/F would freak out and die if I was racing to a stop.
Just wondering..and what sorta sound does the BOV make?

The BOV has 6 3/8" vent holes, so the out flow area equals the 1" diameter in flow.
It was made to handle up to ~40PSI boost.
The main spring is really stiff. I can't push the plunger by hand. I can only push it with peg.
The fit between the brass plunger & the aluminum housing is really close. The clearance is less than .002".
The only down side to this style is, you need to clean & lube it when you do oil changes.
