pic shows the factory precat.. will an aftermarket dp clear Thats not a factory pre-cat. I dont know what downpipe it is, but it is definately not US spec OEM. Possibly OEM JDM(which has no pre-cat, as Im told) or an aftermarket one designed to clear the RHD steering rack. I havent tested any other downpipes, but there should be room. There was a good bit of room with that downpipe, and in that area of the chassis, I believe the FD and FC are pretty similar. Everything seemed to fit like it was made to go there. |
yer right.. didnt see the bottom end of that pic..
certainly looks like the hks dp.. |

i would think that the front of the engine hasto be saported some how . like said above. one hard launch and i'd assume you'd bend those a tiny bit if not saporting the front of the engine aswell.... have you tested these and re-mesured the brackets to spec making sure that they did not bend in any way posible?

The stock FD mounts grab from the back unlike the FC's that have mounts in the middle the tranny itself (I have heavy duty tranny mounts)keep the engine from flexing back We shall see I have ordered my set hope to have it in a week or so I could of tapped the sides and the bottom of my new FD engine to adapt the stock FC brackets/mounts but this is a much cleaner install..... Its a secondary bridge/ported motor with scalloped rotors 600+ HP is the goal |

As we went over in the PM, the front of the engine is supported. Looking back at my original install pics, those mounts were the prototype. The production mounts fit a little differently. Mainly, the cup, if you will, that bolts to the stock engine mount contacts the center iron at the oil pan rail on both sides. If there were any flexing in my mounts, it would only transfer weight onto the center iron. |

I really like the red on the mounts too. Email me a few pics when you get the engine mounted. I could use some new installed pics since mine dont reflect the updated mounts. |
