ok..now to sound redundant..but if you remove the cats...and the airpump..what activates the secondary ports? And...what are pineapple inserts for the 5th & 6th port? and what does it do?

good pictures of 5&6th ports and inserts the inserts allow for better flow, from a 90 degree turn to a gentle slope
there's a lot of info on this in the 2nd gen faq's
on the series 4, there is a tube that runs from the main catalytic converter back to the intake manifold. From what I understand, this serves 2 functions. It provides fresh air to the cat to facilitate the converting process, and the backpressure from the tube activates the secondary ports. The air pump can be removed if the cats have been taken of, but that tube can be retained to activate the secondary ports with the back pressure.
