5one5 Innovations is now up and running. For those of you who don't frequent the evil forum I'll let you know a bit about us. 5one5 is a small shop that specialises in custom fiberglass and carbon fiber parts for the FC. We make parts for other cars, but no other rotary cars as of yet. Here is a list of products that we have available:

Triple gauge pod to replace the idiot light cluster - This pod will hold 52mm or 60mm gauges and is made of fiberglass. The gauges are angled towards the driver for good visibility. All pods come gel coated black ready for use or you can sand it with some fine grit, primer, and paint it whatever color you like. $85 shipped

Single gauge pod to replace the driver's door vent - This pod will hold 52mm or 60mm gauges and is made out of fiberglass as well. The gauge is angled towards the driver for good visibility. All pods come gel coated black ready for use or you can sand it with some fine grit, primer, and paint it whatever color you like. $65 shipped

Lightweight fiberglass sunroof - This is a direct bolt in replacement for the factory sunroof. You will only need to transfer the clip holders and weather stripping off of your stock sunroof to use ours. We supply the hardware. This panel weighs in at 3.5 pounds vs. a touch over 10 pounds for the stock piece. Best of all, this panel will never rust like the stock one does. The 5one5 sunroof has identical bracing to the stock panel to ensure strength. Extensive testing has been completed on this panel and no buffetting was present at speeds up to 100mph!(It would've been tested faster, but I didn't feel like taking a chance with the local cops. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR ) All sunroofs will come light grey primered and ready for paint. $300 shipped

Also soon to come will be a reverse vented hood. There has been a huge demand for a quality vented hood for the FC that won't break your bank. Well, we have the answer for you!! The prototype hood will be finished and ready for molding this week. As soon as it is primered and ready for molding, I will get pictures of it and post them on here. So if you are looking for a great reverse vented hood for your FC then keep an eye on this thread for more updates. The price is estimated to be $650 shipped, but that is not firm yet.

If you have any questions or comments about our products please feel free to PM me here or email me at boostedrex@gmail.com If you buy more than one item at a time then I will discount the total price for you. 5one5 Innovations is small and we are not out to try and make a fortune right off the bat. Also, if you are local to Sacramento, CA then you can come and pick up your parts from me for a lower cost. Product quality and customer service are our two top concerns. Here are some pictures of our products that I mentioned. I will have more pictures soon. Including a great picture of just how strong our products are. Try a 200+ pound man standing on our triple gauge pod. (keep in mind this is thin fiberglass and it's full weave, not chop strand!!) Thank you for your time.

Make a passenger side fibreglass head light with strong mounting tabs and huge ass hole to let air through for less than 40 USD

1988RedT2 05-16-2006 01:17 PM

How about a lightweight hatch with lexan rear window?

BoostedRex 05-16-2006 02:30 PM

Actually, we are looking at doing a lightweight rear hatch. The only problem I see is this. Is a lexan rear window street legal or would it only be good for track use only cars? I would say that this is something we'll surely be interested in.

Now keep in mind that if you want something I haven't mentioned and/or don't make, we can make anything you want. We will do an estimate and ask for a non-refundable 50% deposit up front. We are currently making two full interiors for FC's that will consist of 15 CF panels each. Not our idea, but the owners wanted it that way.

looks awesome, please start doin fb stuff https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

BoostedRex 05-16-2006 03:06 PM

What kind of FB parts are you talking about? And if we need a stock part to mold off of would you be willing to trade the stock part for an aftermarket one??

BoneT2&Harmony 05-16-2006 04:33 PM

can I have the vent custom placed for the hood?

BoostedRex 05-16-2006 04:39 PM

Here are two low res pictures of the prototype hood. The lip on the front of the vents isn't shaped up or anything. The vents themselves are the only thing that you can clearly see, but at least it will give you a good idea of the vent layout on the hood. Hopefully that is what you were talking about Bone. If not then let me know what you have in mind.

Daily refresher

One320B 05-17-2006 04:54 PM

You can get lexan rear hatches from Mazdacomp, and a few other places that are pretty cheap too...

15fingers 05-20-2006 12:32 PM

how about a carbon fiber trunk lid for a 1990 convertable rx7? what would somthing like that cost? its a little bigger than a large pizza box id be very interested!!!!!!!!!

BoostedRex 05-21-2006 10:27 PM

15fingers,

That's actually a really good idea. If we decide to do that would you donate your stock trunk lid? I would be able to cut you a discount on the CF piece if so. Let me know what you think.

Zach

15fingers 05-22-2006 07:01 PM

rotarychainsaw 05-22-2006 09:13 PM

Ooh nice, will that sunroof keep out rain? I assume it would with the stock stripping. I'll probably HAVE to get one eventually, but for now i'm gonna hope mine holds out.

BoostedRex 05-23-2006 02:35 PM

Rotarychainsaw, our sunroof panel keeps out rain just like the stock one does. Well just like the stock one does when it's not rusted through. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png But in all seriousness, our sunroof is a direct fit replacement. The only difference you'll notice from the stock steel piece and ours is how much lighter ours is.

15fingers, we're working on getting solid price numbers for your request right now. How many people do you know for sure would want one? You can contact me via PM here or email me at boostedrex@gmail.com

Zach

15fingers 05-23-2006 06:17 PM

i cant seem to get in contact with anyone at the moment, i'll keep trying but how about i post somthing on 2nd gen specific about it. couldnt hurt maybe if theres enough people we can do a group buy or somthing? i would like to be the first satisfied customer if everything works out. lol

let me know what you think.

BoostedRex 05-26-2006 06:24 PM

If you can get a group buy going and people don't have a problem putting down deposits then yeah, it's ok with us. I'll talk to you some more after I get some firm details on price and wait time until they'd be ready.

Midnightdriver 05-27-2006 08:50 PM

intrested in FC hood..how much for one? Also a cover for the warning light pannel. I know you have one the fits gauges but I need one that covers it.

BoostedRex 05-29-2006 03:24 PM

The cost of the hood isn't final as of yet. I'll have a final shipped price by the end of this week at the very latest. And we only make a gauge pod to replace the idiot light cluster, but let me see what I can do. I'm guessing you'd want it to be a flat panel that bent up to follow the shape of the dash right?

Midnightdriver 05-29-2006 05:46 PM

That would be correct..

cdaleracer669 06-05-2006 12:12 PM

i think a cheap headlight cover would be nice. under 50$. i think corksport sells them for like 70 or 90$

Our new vented hood is ready to get sent off to mold!! I am going to be taking more pictures soon to show the lip up in front of the front vent. I know you can't tell from these pictures, but there is a .75" to 1" tall lip there. These were just shitty angles for the pictures. I apologize about that. If you are interested in a hood then PM me or you can email me at Zach@5one5Innovations.com

Zach

BoostedRex 06-11-2006 01:38 PM

Nobody is interested in a quality hood? Wow, I thought I would get a better response than this. Maybe people just haven't read the thread yet.

BoostedRex 06-12-2006 12:40 PM

15fingers,

I have some good news about your request. We are planning on making a CF trunk lid for the vert. It won't be until after the first batch of hoods have been shipped, but we are going to make them. I'll be sure to PM you with more specific details once I get them. But start getting a list of names that want one together and PM it to me. You can also email it to me at Zach@5one5innovations.com

Just an update. I have 3 sunroofs and 5 gauge pods still in stock as of right now. I might be out of both for about a week, but after that my stock will be built back up. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png If you need any parts give me a shout.

Baldy 06-14-2006 03:32 PM

I don't have any money for car parts right now, but I'm just curious: What's the smaller vent for in the hood? The placement of it looks like it should have some specific purpose, but I'm not sure what that is.

BoostedRex 06-15-2006 08:38 AM

Baldy,

We put the smaller vent on the hood so that there would be a bit of added heat relief over the turbo/exhaust mani area. It is nothing major, but every little bit helps. One thing with all of our products is that you'll never see something on a product that serves no functional purpose. What do you think of the hood by the way?

Baldy 06-15-2006 08:59 AM

I think it looks good, if I were in the market for a hood I'd definitely consider it.

Terraleone 06-16-2006 01:10 AM

Maybe if you offer the parts in CF, more people will look. Will the hood come in CF? I'm pretty interested.

BoostedRex 06-16-2006 08:59 AM

Terraleone,

Anything that we make in fiberglass we can also make in CF. (With the exception of the single gauge door pod) We just offer the fiberglass parts first because of the cost difference. The cost of high quality CF has really gone up as of late. And we refuse to use anything other than the highest quality materials. If there is something we make that you like then just contact me and I will be more than happy to quote you a price in CF. Thanks for your interest in 5one5.

jefraney 06-16-2006 03:45 PM

How much are you planning on selling the hoods for? I wouldn't mind picking one up if the price is right.

BoostedRex 06-16-2006 03:57 PM

Jefraney,

The hoods are selling for $750 shipped. I know this seems a bit expensive however... If you compare the cost of our hood versus the shipped cost for any other hood of the same quality on the market you'll see that we are at least $200 under our nearest competitor. If you have any questions please feel free to post in here, PM me, or email me at Zach@5one5innovations.com I'll be looking forward to hearing what you think.

And thanks to Steffan and his friends in New Zealand, 5one5 is proud to announce that we are starting production of RHD triple and single gauge pods. If anyone is interested then just give me a shout and I'll hook you up. Thanks as always for your support everybody. You guys have been great and we look forward to doing buisness with the forum members of nopistons for a long time to come.

the carbonfiber trunklid is a go! wooohoooooo!! when ever you get an idea of the pricing please let me know. out of curiosity will the trunklid cost about the same price as the fiberglass hood? or ("CHEAPER")? hint hint.... lol

BoostedRex 06-23-2006 08:47 AM

I don't have a firm price on the trunk lids as of yet. But I can promise that I'm trying to keep the price as low as I can while still turning a bit of a profit. And the more people you/we can get in on this the cheaper the trunk lids will be. So let me know how many people you can get up. Also, after we figure out a firm price point then we will start accepting deposits. With something like this, we won't start making them without 50% deposits up front.
