07 6 port renesis(rebuilt) and transmission
Asking 4000
Selling the drivetrain from my 07 rx8. The engine was rebuilt by me, about 2 years ago, and has about 2000 miles on it. I am a graduate of Sam Tech in Houston Texas, and spent a few years in the high performance engine building industry, so it wasn't built by some hack. I'm selling the setup, because it's getting a v8 put in instead. The drivetrain is still in the car, so you can come hear it run and I'll take you for a ride in it.
Price includes the engine, some accessories, flywheel setup(replaced when rebuild was done, so friction plate is fresh as well), and the 6 speed transmission. The Trans has 113k miles on it but shifts very cleanly through all gears.
About the engine-
I have videos I can send of a compression test I did on rotor 1 while the engine is hot and a start up. It's holding over 150 psi, on all 3 faces. I didn't test number 2 because the numbers came out so good on the first one.
Engine has been ported using Racing Beat street port guide plate.
Every soft seal, and every hard seal has been replaced with atkins rotary products. Stationary bearings and rotor bearings were reused, as they were in good condition.
Replaced rotor housings using polished housings, also from atkins rotary.
Atkins thermal pellet used to replace factory wax pellet. This causes a little smoke on the exhaust during warm up, but goes away when fully heated. Atkins website will give you a reason for this if you're unfamiliar with it.
This was a proper rebuild. I'm pretty firm on 4000, considering I'm including the Transmission and clutch setup in my price. I have a baby so it'll take me a month or two to pull the parts out, as my time is pretty slim. You need to show up with the money in hand to see it. I won't ask for any of it until I have the drivetrain ready for you, but I'm not giving out joyrides to random people, and don't want to pull it out until I have a serious buyer.
I'm located in greensburg Indiana. I'm not shipping, so you'll have to come pick it up.
