Jeff here is some detail on what I did to my clutch master to make it work better than using the stock MG/AH master. It is easy to drive yet it is not wimpy. You said yours needs to be rebuilt anyway, so this is not too $$$. You will need an '86 master, some hard line, various couplings and a flex line....
Don't rebuild the stock master. I used an '86 master and all I had to do was file out the mounting holes on the pedal box to allow the mounting studs to fit. Oh, and I think I replaced one of the studs with a bolt for ease of installation. I also had to make a new pushrod - I cut the "U" shaped end off the stock pushrod and welded it to a 1/4" bolt that I had cut the head and threaded part off of (it was a long bolt) and used it for the new pushrod. You will also need to drill a hole in the pedal box directly in front of the clutch pedal and weld a nut (5/16" works) so you can thread a bolt in to act as a stop for the pedal to keep it from flopping around when it is released (mine had about 1" of free play because the stock pedal spring pulls the pedal all the way back). Set up this way, the clutch is the same height as the brake and works well. Brian |

mike The wheels are 15x8" Superlite's - custom made. I lucked out a few years ago when someone ordered them and then backed out. They were sitting in the warehouse and I got a deal on them. The original buyer was going to use them on a Midget also. Tires are Kumho ECSTA V700 225/45/15's. Right now the car is waiting for me to start taking it apart and finish the body work and paint it this winter. I also plan to build a new front suspension with adjustable a-arms, coil-overs, and balljoints (getting rid of kingpins). I just need some good weather this weekend..... Oh and the other fender has been on for a while as you can see... |

I'm leaning towards the 4x4.25" pattern so that I can get wheels anywhere (Mustang 5.0's) so I can mount my race tires and a set of streets. |
Why not just drill it for 4x114 (FC Rx7)???Use the old phone dial wheels off the early FC's or 84-85 SE's.

Also, I can't go that big with the front hubs I plan to make/use :smirk: |
Hey thanks! I took about 12 pics of mine yesterday. I've got to finish the roll before I can put 'em on my webpage.

Jeff, here is what you should do for your rear suspension on the Midget.
Don't ask where I got this https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif BTW - it does not show the panhard rod, but it uses one... |
Thanks!

mike I assume that you mean the one on the track. It was at Summit Point Raceway in WV. I did a Track day and time trial with the NASA group. That pic was taken on my first track session with the instructor in the car. After that he bailed and let me go solo. I ended up in 2nd in the time trial loosing by .06 sec to a Lotus 7, but I beat a Z-06 and a 911 https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif I've got in-car shots if you want to see them |
i was talking about the suspension one, but the on track one is cool too. i like little cars

mike Besides, with a Miata, you have to pass emmissions testing (at least in MD). Let me know how it measures out... |
