i live in new zealand and here we have lots of non mazda (and factory piston mazda) rotary vehicles driving around. i was wondering what it was like in other parts of the world......

take for example near me (as in within about an hours drive) i know of a 13bt bmw, 2 13b bridgeport mk1 ford escorts, a 13b mk1 and a 12a mk2 ford cortina, many early 80s mazda 626s and 323s, a 13bt ford anglia, a 13bt jeep......... im sure that there is more but i cant think of any off the top of my head.

so.... what crazy conversions are around ure town/city or what would u like to convert?

Not any that I know of. Its hard to find a mechanic that knows anything about them. I have to order parts from california. When I walk into an auto parts store here the say "what kind of motor"? Its crazy there all rotary stupid.

Hi,

I've posted pics of this car on the forum. I've got a '79 Kelmark GT, which has a VW bug pan and I've installed a '87 TurboII rotary in it. I took everything apart, down to the last nut n' bolt and beefed everything up. If there was an after market part to beef up the VW, I bought it and installed it. The car is about 1800lb and I figure I've got about 250hp at the rear wheels. No emisson junk, block off plates on all of it, a Haltech E6k runs the motor and the exhaust is 3" stainless steel with a Racing Beat premuffler(from their turbo exhaust system), and a Supertrapp 3" in, 5" out muffler thats been reworked to flow better. This is one scary car to drive. (the body weighs 400lb. Five of us lifted it off of the pan!)

I bought a beefed up transaxle, which except for the overdrive 4th gear is the same ones they use in rotary powered sand rails. After just 200 miles it went bad, so I had to take the engine and trans out, ship it back to the builder and he rebuilt it(for around $2000.us ,he should have gotten it right the first time!) Well, I just put the engine and trans back in last night and can't wait to get the car back on the road!

i'm planning on putting my n/a 13b into a 510, i found the car complete with no motor, but its already set up for my 13b, the old owner had the same set up and blew his motor. i found this car for 700, and i bought my rx7 for 800, so for a total of under 2000 i'll have a 13b 510

My dad and I are hoping to build a tube chassis and put a VW beetle body over top of it.

The supercharged RX-4 motor is going to sit under the front hood...not the back.

We're going to use 2nd gen suspention.

This thing is going to
