I do know how to put a rotary in a 240 as well as many other cars. I was looking for some pics just to see if it looks like it would be worth the time.

Yeah, post up what you find on this. I have no idea where to get pics, but I'd sure be interested in developing this idea!

You can put a rotary in anything. One of my friends use to have a 240sx and I kept telling him to put a rotary in it. There is plenty of space to put one in a 240sx and it wouldn't be all to hard as fitment would go. I don't think you would even worry about the transmission tunnel seeing how big the factory tunnel is on those cars. Where in Vista, CA are you because I'm in Vista also I live right down the street from North County Ford.

phinsup,

What year is that car and do you have photos of the engine bay? Also what rearend do you have in it and what gearing? I ask this because you can use the third member from a early 70's datsun pickup with gearing around 4.36 and 4.88 depending on the year and motor it came with, it drops right in. It's funny I usually take the rearend out of the early 200sx, solid rear with disc brakes, and put them in RX3s with the center section from a early pickup truck. Damn that cars pretty cool looking.

It's not mine, it was at the Nopistons Winter Retreat last month. I know there are a ton of pics somewhere I will try and hunt them down.

There was so much room in the engine compartment you could have slept there.

It has a r-200 out of a 280zx with the suspension with 4.62 lsd.The front has 280zx turbo struts and brakes. The car has a 2"x3" box frame from the fire wall back..The swap is made easier because of the mounting on the front of the engine.I still have the mounting for a 12a.The motor was built by scott at mazsport in tampa. It is a bridgeport 13b with a big weber, probly in the 250rwhp range. The car is 2150lbs so the power to weight is pretty good. Going to take it to the track soon. The car was built by eric hux from www.huxracingusa.com Mainly does mr-2 but is a fab. genius. I 'm saving to paint and finish it up for now..
