This Vaz Lada 2110 car was prepared for Russian Supertouring Cars Championship or RSTCC for a few years at the end of 90's. The car was prepared by the works team and raced by works driver Boris Maslov. It used a Lada rotary engine like that fitted in the special version of VAZ cars for the Russian police and KGB.

Technical specification Length - 4250 Width - 1780 Height - 1350 Wheelbase - 2550 Front wheel track - 1530 Rear wheel track - 1490

Full mass - 960 (kg) Top speed - 240 km/h (150 mph) 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) - 6sec

Engine Type - Rotary VAZ 415 # of Sections (rotors) - 2 Displacement - 1308 sq2 (ccs) Compression ratio - 9,4 Power, hp/rpm - 190/8500 Torque, Nm/rpm - 196.2/4500 Fuel feed - Injection, controlled by Janvar 4-1 ECU

Gearbox Gears - 6 Type - Dogbox

The 2004 spec 2110 race car which has '2.0 GTI' on the back uses a G.M. Opel 2 litre piston engine.

any pics of the motor? I'm not familiar with a "lada" rotary.

Lada have a fairly long history using rotary engines IIRC.

I understand that GM are now investing in Lada so maybe they will start making credible modern cars soon. Sadly i doubt that they will be rotaries, i think Lada have turned their backs on the rotary now... but you never know!
