Change Bolt Pattern On Rx3 Front Brakes
#1
I want to change the bolt pattern on the front of my RX3. I dont want to redrill the stock hub for a new pattern, Id rather change the whole brake assembly to something a little bigger with a common 4 or 5 lug pattern. Can I swap this stuff with 1st gen RX7 stuff? I dont want the 4x110 anymore. I would just redrill my hubs to 4 on 4 1/4 but when I hold my front draglite up to test fit, it sticks out from under the fender. I need a brake setup that will pull the wheel in a little to clear the Weld wheels. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Josh

I see 5 studs on the back, just out of interest what's that off? By far the easiest and probably cheapest thing would be to redrill new holes, and change the front wheels to give you the right offset. You're letting yourself in for a world of headaches with suspension and steering geometry which will all have to be changed - unless you completely luck out and find a hub that sit's on the existing upright to give exactly the offset you need. Bear in mind if you do this and the wheels fit under the arches that it doesn't necessarily mean that it'll work.

The car has a Ford 9 inch in it, and the axles were drilled with a Ford 5 lug pattern, so I bought Welds that fit a Ford. Easy stuff there, getting the front to fit has me stumped.

Your profile says you have a 10a pport 3 rotor. Sounds cool, got any pics?
BTW, I bought a front brake conversion kit from "The Racing Store", which will convert the front to a ford 5 lug with bigger brakes. When it arrives I'll take pics and post them.

I'm sure there is. The hubs in the kit are aluminum, so they have to be lighter. When I install everything I'll have a better idea. I'm going to take more pics to show anyone if they are interested.
