Let me get some info, granted these were drifter shops (if you know about dirfter shops then you know what i mean) so I dont know how good the info was... I can look into it.

I can be dumb sometimes, so bear with me. So you can keep the miata transmission, but you have to use the fc bellhousing, right? That would eliminate the cutting and all that stuff associated with the trans, right? So, if that's true, the only issue is motormounts? if so, this is starting to look like a good idea...

what about the other jazz, like ecu and whatnot?

um, thats exactly what i'm thinking baldy, you keep the miata tailshaft house, and use the na tranny guts from an fb/fc and you dont have to do any fabricating except motor mounts, and if those are easy like jt says, then it should be cake. nobody does it this way that ive seen for some reason, they all seem to want to put the t2 tranny in, for no reason.

the ecu, sholdnt be too hard, you get an e6k->plug in adaptor from k2rd, and just wire up the 13b using the miata harness

wow, I will definitely consider this when I decide to rebuild my spare motor. I'm getting all antsy just thinking about it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

Here is a picture of the new rotary miata (silver car) sitting beside the new (4th Gen) RX7. At least, this is what Road and Track magazine is claiming in this month's issue.

i'd rather have them call that the rotary miata than an rx7........ maybe if the gave it a diet and put a roof on it

Mounting a 13B into a miata, isn't easy, First of all with the gearbox: I'm not sure about miatas but the MX-5s down here come with a huge torsion bar right up the middle and plays a huge part in the cars rigidty and handling, if you were to remove it you would have to convert to a 4 link live axle, Your better off getting a pro to setup a hybrid miata/RX-7 box..

Also you will have to move the steering rack forward about a foot to mount the motor, you'll also need a custom sump fabricated, which can be pricey...

Good luck https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/cool.png
