The B2200 tranny is an M series while the FD tranny is an R series. There is no interchangability of the tailhousings.

Fabbing a new crossmember shouldnt be a difficult matter. If you were close to me, I could do it in an afternoon, but if not, any competent welder should be able to make something work. Theres not a lot of stress on the trans mount/crossmember.

Ok well I live in haw river north Carolina I have a question and buddy of mine who is really smart when it comes to any kind of motor or anything drag racing related but not on the rotates and neither am I he seems to think that if I do not make a rubber mount for the tranny crossmember that it with crack the tranny seeing how it has rubber mounts for the engine and in the rx7 fd car the tranny member is just a bar that bolts from the tranny to the rear end with no rubber mounts can u tell me if that is true or what I should do about rubber mount and just mounting it straight to a crossmember? Any advice is really apprictated I have been stuck on this for two weeks thanks

Actually rotaries run very smoothly, and get smoother as the rpm's increase. So rubber mounts arent especially important, and I have run solid motor mounts as well as trans mounts on a streetcar with no issues.

A cammed v8, on the other hand would rattle the car apart...

Well I cut my stock mounts off and made my own for the engine and I took and flipped my tranny crossmeber up side down cut the middle out and made a bracket to fit the rx7 tranny and then made it strong and then I had a driveshaft made its a lot of work I also put bags on my truck
