87 Fuel Injection To Carb......
#1
Hi im new here, I have a 72 Datsun 510 and im puttin an 87 6-port 13B. I am planning on putting a carberator on it instead of going with FI. Should I stick with FI or go with the carb? Also, do you know anyone that sells a side draft intake that fits the 6-port pattern? Thanks.

www.racingbeat.com and www.mazdatrix.com for all that manifold stuff and other parts
why go carb when u can go EFI, price is about the same i would assume,
and the EFI gives much more flexibility, if it will be a stock 13b just put the stock 13b efi on it
if u want to play aroudn go with a standlone.
carb is nice and easy but its not as flexible and part throttle will most likely eat more fuel then tuned efi

Something else to consider is utilizing the stock 2nd gen intake, eliminate the AFM and get a Microtech EMS to control the engine. I'm going to end up with something similiar to this in my FP car. The longer runners and functional 5th/6th port will help with the lack of torque but you still retain some good top end now that the AFM is gone.

I had a similar setup on my RX-2 once upon a time, had a 6 port 13B with a port matched intake manifold and 48IDA weber, it pulled quite well, but I'd chose EFI over carb anyday if you can afford it and like lots of wires
