why would we be comparing a iron block LT1 to a LS1?

Early camaros did not have LT1, they had TPI 350 or even cross fire 350. LT1 was not until the early 90s.

the iron block LT1 does not weigh THAT much more then a 2 rotor, I have one in a FC and the car honestly does not

drive that much different then any other FC I have had, until you feel the torque that is. I have aluminum heads, but iron block LT1.



I think with the technolgy of the LS1 it would be foolish to go with a big block unless you just wanted bragging rights and 600+ horsepower without breaking a sweat.



A single turbo 20B on boost is not going to be taking on a Prius when it comes to economy.

well a TT 13B i can make 300 horse easy. very easy. and still get double digit mileage. All my friends run either race small blocks, getting low single digit gas numbers, or big blocks like im my other car. im building this to offset a 1400 horse street car, so power isnt so much an issue for me.

still need to put the car on a serious diet if you are now talking 13B, forget twin turbo, you will have much better results with larger

single turbo.



what kind of mods do you have on a 454 that you have 1400 streetable hp?

basically the only thing on that engine that isnt forged titanium is the block, the valve springs, the pushrods, small little bits and pieces, intake, the blower, and the bearings. all the limits on internals are at 9500 rpm. and its a weind 6-71 or 8-71 supercharger, i cant remember right now. its scary as **** just to drive it.

weiand is the brand, they dont make titanium blowers



1400hp is crazy power from a 8-71 blower, I would like to see this set up, I had a big block in a 80's cutlass.

well, ive got an update. its now a serious battle between a 2jz-ge and a 13b. so far, the jz is winning just cuz of availability, and it actually has torque... any comments on that?

Id say go with the 2jz swap....like the other said the rotary is not fit for the heavy weight of the car...
