12a bug need help

i just bought the bug and has a 12a with a weber 48 ida i hve a list of issues



1 cant drive it on the highway it overheats the fan blows good and flows good

checked the thermastat wasnt there so i bought a new one now it just over heats faster



2 with the air fuel mixture screw all the way in its not flooding and using as much gas

and doesnt smoke. turn the screws half a turn it smokes and uses a s-tun of gas



what fuel pressure should that bad boy it has a holley domanator pump and a regulater but the gauge is not working but have a new one to install just need to see what i need to agust it to thanks

it only fireing on 1 rotor the plugs are wet could they just be fouled

fix spark problem & check timing, or go rx7club.com archives! 5psi if im not mistaken. also check water pump...

A 48ida is it a stock port motor? If it is that might be a tad too big. Dont fret I suppose it could be jetted down. I wish I could help more but I dont used webbers but the ida is a good carb. It is a down draft right? If your motor is stock maybe try 3-4 psi and see what happens. Are you sure your water pump works? UM maybe your colling system isnt set up right. Where is your rad? Take some pictures and maybe you'll get some more help The spark deal um start at the coils make sure each coil has power with a test light. the see if you have power from the dizzy to the plugs. remove each plug and wire one at a time turn engine over should see sparks at the end of the plugs. Finally make sure the wires are going to propper location t stands for trailing L stands for leading, even though ther the lower set they fire first
