hey guys

well i finally got my car off defect here in australia, took me 8 months to get it legal again, and 5 weeks b4 its off the road again.

well anyway this time round i went for a series 5 13b extend port turbo in my series 2 rx7 (over the 12a J port) which i originally had.

All was going sweet untill i popped a heater hose off on a 100degree day (workshops fault).

took it back n they said 'yep she's cooked the water seals'

they didnt wanna fix the problem, said i should of checked over their work etc etc so i said i wasnt a mechanic blah blah.

nope didnt work

so i drove home n threw some chemi weld in her (dont ever do this)!

2 weeks later i turn out of a street near my joint, get on boost, fuel surge BARRRRRRRRRRR she starts to run on 1 rotor. wtf i say ?

get her home, pull the bottom 2 plugs out n crank her over

rear rotor has good comp

front rotor has none, zilch, nothing, rotor doesnt even turn

wtf i say again ?

so what has happen? have i smashed the teeth around the front rotor, thus eccentric shaft is still spinning just not spinning the rotor ?

or have i snapped the eccentric shaft between 1st and 2nd housings?

im yet to pull her out and strip her down...

cheers

WOW.. Thats a good one!!! I dont hear about people snaping the E-Shaft vary often around here..

But, If the front rotor is even turning. it sounds like you pulled it off!!! Because even if the stat gear was broke the rotor would still turn right???

The rotor is probably spinning but the apex seals are seized or spat out the exhaust, it would be very unlikely a solid 70mm shaft would break
