Its not reverse thread. When they were built at the factory they had something similar to locktite put on the threads and on the flange on the bolt head. When I have problems even with an impact I use a big hammer and a big punch and hit it squarely a few times. Then try with the impact again. (Both ways) Repeat untill you get it off. Make sure you use a 6pt instead of the 12pt. It holds better without stripping.

Loctite breaks down when you heat it. Use a torch; trust me.

Definately. I wouldn't be hitting the bolt without using heat first.. Threads are loctite'd from factory, no?

NOTHING on the car is reverse thread.

yes, I heated it, yes I hit it with punch and hammer, yes I'm using a 6 point socket, no it still won't budge. Do I need to get it red hot? the damn thing acts like its welded on.

Try putting the flywheel back on the car and jam the flywheel so it wont move. Manually adjust the air pressure higher, you basically preventing the compressor to shut off at its normal pressure. Make sure you have a pressure gauge, you dont want to go too high. Use 3/4 inch 19 mm 6pt socket if you have it, if not use a 3/4 to 1/2 adaptor. Becareful, i've shatered a 1/2 19mm socket doing this. Just keep on blasting the bolt while applying pressure so the gun doenst wobble around too much. My 3/4 bluepoint gun has never failed me. Once the air compressor comes on dont keep on blasting, wait till the pressure builds up and do it again.

I have a 1/2 inch drive impact, with a 1/2" drive 3/4" socket, and yea, 3/4 and 19mm are the exact same. Its still refuses to budge, so I guessI'm gonna have to go get that 3/4 inch drive one again and try it.

I had the same problem. For 2 weeks I couldn't get it to budge. Finally I got the biggest drive I could get and used a like 5-6ft cheater bar. After about 10 minutes it come off.

Rx7_re, is that your car in the avatar?

and yea, I'm still workin of it

I have a 3 foot 3/4" drive cheater bar, and i'm gonna slip a pipe over that and give it a go, but I think I'm just gonna have to get that big impact wrench back.
