i used to shift in the lower gears when the tach needle stopped, alex would drive it at the track with the tach needle pegged and the engine still revving. i was actually hoping to see more damage

Anything odd about the stat gear on that rotor? Rotor bearing?

Maybe the rotor gear shifted from the high rpm and eventually pushed that corner into the side plate.

You know...that's a good possibility. Old, high revving motor...that could very well do it.

Corner seals fit fine in mine, is the corner seal spring groove considered abnormal wear?

mine are so bad the spring fits in the groove, usually its just a shiny spot where the spring was

on an old motor sometiems u do have the spring embedded like thatm, i cant see hwo much excatly yours is, but its not the depth of the whole corner spring. this usually happens when teh rotor hits an iron or comming really close to hitting it. i am seeing cratch marks on that pic u posted, but it doesnt look shiny, is that just from wipiing it or did it hit the wall, this usually would mean that you also have a bearing failure since it let the rotor go that far out of its track.

If you reuse those rotors, you should get some '93 corner springs.

that mark is just dirt. the bearings look ok, the rear rotor bearing is worn on the edges more than i'd expect to see

update, put new engine in car, runs great. the old motor is apart and dunno wtf is wrong with it
