Hi All.

I'm mid way through porting my S5 Plates and was thinking what is the Definition of a Wild Extended port?

I will put some pictures on of mine when i'm happy with the shape and size but i will discribe it too you.

Ok the secondry ports, The Opening edge (Closest to the water Chanel) has been opened out 3mm, The closing edge (top of the port) has been cut back 8mm then rounded off so it is more like 10mm, the Oil control ring side has just been cleaned up and the lower edge has been moved down 4mm.

Would you say this is a Big (Wild) extended port? I was going to distroy an old plate to find out how far i could go but you can never find one when you want one!.

Cheers

Chris

This is a Pic of my ports 80% finished (Bit dodgy). What do you think?

Are they a bit small? I did'nt want to hit a water way.

I still have to get them resurfaced but you get the picture.

The other at 60% i'm still shaping it.

damn dude, put a few layers of duct tape around the work area so when the grinder jumps you wolnt score teh side housing so bad!

Grizzly 04-22-2005 07:49 PM

Its not as bad as it looks. Thats only satin black so it comes off realy easy. Plus it was duck taped up thats the 120 cones, its always the same you are realy carfull whilst its Duck'd using the burs but i was tired and slip'd on the smoothing out.

Nothing that wont be removed when there reground. Should have cleaned it up first but i've got to chamfer off the closing edge etc yet so i needed the measurements.

I was just checking too see if you think the shape and size is about right?

GreyGT-C 04-22-2005 07:53 PM

thats about the size of my ports back when i was civilized.

Grizzly 04-22-2005 07:58 PM

"thats about the size of my ports back when i was civilized."

You are running bigger ports than that? I thought they where big for a T2?

I guess i better scrap a Plate and see how big they will go before i hit the water channels.

GreyGT-C 04-22-2005 08:09 PM

before i went bridgeport thats what i was running.... about that size.

Grizzly 04-22-2005 08:11 PM

Ok, Would you say its a good size for the road? will have a HKS T04s kit on it too.

I will be leaving the Primarys just smooth them out.

no worries if you go through the water jacket--metal epoxy will patch it right up.
