Hi, been a long time since I posted in this forum but thought I would share some pics of my various fabrication projects on my SP RX7
Well here is the turbo support. http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/3847/support1w.jpg http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/7444/support2.jpg http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/7942/support3.jpg http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/1894/support4.jpg |
Fab'd the alloy battery tie down bracket and fitting 3 CDI box's (held by battery bracket posts), wiring layout in progress (lots of wires haha)
http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/6501/cdibattery1.jpg http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/4183/cdibattery2.jpg Started fabrication of the air box to turbo WI chamber, twin 3" feeds to 4" on front of turbo http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/6931/cdibattery3.jpg Well here it is, a tad over engineered!!! can be used as a third engine mount!!! (its not so bad weight is under 1kg) but its rock solid, holds coils perfectly and is very simple, each rotor coils set is modular and comes off with one cap head bolt https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif I probably screwed around for weeks on and off thinking how to do it and this way worked out best, lots of welding and making different jigs *fiddly stuff* especially the spacers for the coils, but that's how it goes lol http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/9789/cop2.jpg http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/4082/cop3.jpg http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/7108/cop1.jpg |
Finished AF sensor placement, also EBP sensor fitted too, all fiddly stuff really to get it to fit and be serviceable. Also have started work on decent SS304 heat shield (not finished yet), and fabricated the oil drain and inlet feed.
http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/4926/shield1w.jpg http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/1803/shield2.jpg http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/5764/shield3.jpg http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/7463/shield4.jpg http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/6268/shield5.jpg |
Well here is the completed dump pipe with all heat shields in place, these are designed to be loose and have some air circulation to stop pipe fatigue in circuit racing applications, I will have a pipe feed of air going to underside of manifold as well. Most all radiant heat will be stopped going into inlet manifold and into other components and engine bay in general as you can see from angled shots. All shields are removable too (made these myself).

*Some intermediate construction steps* After lunch Finished cut out of hole & welding of WG pipe https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif
