How many of you are doing this? Whats did you use to plug up coolent holes that are on the left side of the block, right above the intake ports? Ok, a Npt plug with teflon sealent didnt work. i also filled in after the plug some titanium epoxi. I just notice i was haveing a small coolent leak right below the LIM.

on the 86 na intake theres a freeze plug. i used that and filled up to the gasket with silicon, not as clean as it could be but it worked

Some people put a quarter in the hole and then put an o-ring over it. It seems to work well, but those motors cost an extra 50 cents!

I've seen Chris do that on a few of his motors. 1/2 npt plug, teflon tape and then put some silicone sealant on top to boot.

That's what Racing Beat recommends. It should work fine as long as the hole is tapped properly.

mazdatrix recommended freeze plugs & epoxy, it leaked when I did that so I pulled them out and tapped em, then installed the aluminum plugs. Results are above. No more leaks.

Why would anyone use those rotor housings? I was told that the FD were stronger, now I'm confused!

The side housings are the part that's stronger.

The 89 to 91 turbo housings are the easiest one to use as a replacement. Plus the 89 to 91 spark plug locations are the same as the FD's. The 86 to 88 are in different locations.
