Turbo Charging Beginner Questions
#1
Ok well i have an 89 gtu 5 speed. The engine has about 30k miles on it and it runs very strong but i want more power. So what do i have to do to the engine to make it the same as a turbo s5 motor, so i can bolt the turbo s5 upper and lower intake manifolds on? Can i just change the end lids and switch them with 4 port ones, and put low compression apex seals in? I want to use the core i have, i dont mind changing things on it. I want to do this because i want to buy an upgraded turbo kit for the car rather than buying a long block turbo block. And i want a single turbo set up like a t4 or something. I want a reliable 400hp at the wheels. What should i do?

save money, sell the stock 6 port motor, buy a s5 or s6 or re motor thats turbo already and use a wolf 3d or something like that with the new turbo motor. trust me its alot better and more reliable to just swap the motor then try and make a 6 port motor turbo and get 400bhp reliably.

The turbo engines breather lots more.
ENGINE REBUILD with different rotors + High oil Pressure parts
Turbo
intercooler
exhaust work
turbo manifold
rear end from T2
drive shaft from t2
ACT clutch
brakes
..........Pretty much it can be done but its easier and little cheaper just to buy a T2
