so i was 3/4 of the way threw my build when i droped and lost the small peice of a apex seal. all the gaskets are in place and rtv around the dowles. i have to order the part. do you guys think im gonna have to take it all back apart and redo the gaskets since i didn't get to tighting it up right away. damn this pisses me off.

atkins says no. they also say i can use a old peice. thats what i wanna hear

I once did a build and a few days later(!) found the corner piece of an apex seal under a table on the shop floor.



Hadn't put the motor in the car, but had already torqued the tension bolts. Figured I would at least need new water jacket rings or that it would leak, but nope. That's when I became convinced that the whole process is actually much more forgiving than I had originally thought. Just carefully unbolted, put the piece in and reassembled.



It ran fine as a daily driver for 5+ years, then it was sold but I saw it around town for a few years more.
