Here are the ports that where in the 1st gen that ran 127mph. Very small. Just ported down to the diffuser.

Intake, the tape is what the port was when in the 1st gen. Took the motor apart to try something new.

Here is a link to some ports that are now in my turboII. After three weeks the motor pulls -10 to -12 vacuum and idles at 900-1000rpm, starts and drives fine. Took it to the dyno a week after the motor was installed and fouled some plugs from running so rich. hoping to take it back in two weeks with a better tune. It is "kinda" slow in first and half of second gear but for the type of port and the .96 a/r p-trim it runs well for only being 80% tuned and only having less then 200 miles on the seals and housings.

hey that's cool,

but i'm curious as to why you ported so far up instead of rounding the d shape downward further. downward would lead to better scavengining as opposed to increased port overlap right?

Chuck did not mention that their drag car run 9.6 second 1/4mile times and rund twin 3037 turbines. 758 horsepower at 1.7kilo of boost. Never seen the dyno chart on the car for more than a split second but the FC has put down many 9 second runs. So has the FD and Sylvia but the FC was the first and was wooping the FD's fanny for a while.
Sounds like KSP Engineering... :P

I would say that they know what they are doing. Overlap is not as bad a thing as everyone thinks......that is just my opinion.... but its funny that the ports with more overlap make the most power.
I kept thinking about this, and it bugged the hell out of me...

Porting for a 400hp 13B versus a 700-900ps 13B is two different things.

I ran a plot of my measely 253hp dyno run versus the KSP BP 700ps+ numbers, and you know what - I make more power under 4kRPM than that monster.

This is my proof that overlap is not always the best deal.

Come on, porting for a street application is going to be totally different than a high-strung 700hp+ monster.

If I ever get to mess around with a 300hp + per rotor engine, I'd yank the sleeves and port the **** out of the exhaust port myself. The name of the game is to get all the combustion exhaust gases out of the engine as much as possible and screw overlap - the turbo(s) will give it enough pressure to overcome any small power losses from overlap.

The picture of my ports are only designed to go up to about 500hp.

After 500hp, the porting dsign should change appropriately.

Remember, my street port mouse makes more power than the KSP monster up until 4kRPM...so, if we were to drag race with 4kRPM limiters, I would win.

Here is a few datalogs of the motor in 3rd gear. Started from a roll in second gear at 30mph, shifted in to 3rd at 6300rpm's. Did not shift fast in to 3rd but fast enough to keep the rpm's up, did not want to spin the rear tires. 3rd gear run was to 6700rpm's. The 3rd gear pull took 3 seconds from the time the clutch was let out to 6700rpm's. My boost controller is set at 13psi, gain is at 85%, start is at 70% which net a total boost level of 17.5psi.

In the photo the dark line is the map, the top line is a heated O2 sensor and the lower smaller line is a PLX w/b 0 to 5 volts. EGT was at 1425F in 3rd. total timing is 20deg of advance. I have two small 4gph water misters come on at 9psi, located 12 inches before the t-body.

The car does not feel to bad in the lower rpm, better then what I thought for the size of the exhaust ports and the amount of overlap.
