I'm putting together a 91 turbo motor from a box of parts. I'm missing the front cover. Is the one off my 88 motor the same ?

Thanks Dave

yes they are different the s5 uses an electrical omp and the s4 uses a mechanical one you should use the one the matches the electronics in the car bc if you use an s4 front cover on an s5 the PCM will read a malfunction with the omp and put the car in limp mode

the s5 metering pump doesnt bolt up to the earlier cover. you can use an s5 na cover, and just drill and tap the turbo oil drain, the casting is there for it
