the obd2 stuff is neat, so we went and road tested an rx8 for the recall.

the leading timing @wot over 7000 is 30btdc....

decel and idle its -5btdc

cruising it goes really quickly to around 36btdc, around 2500 rpms... although if you move the pedal it retards real quickly

Interesting.

What's the split do?

j9fd3s 09-21-2006 02:07 PM

i dunno, we've got another one to drive, so i think we'll graph a run, and then get a printout.

i'm thinking i'll just do a 3rd gear run from 1000-8500 or whatever

j9fd3s 09-21-2006 06:16 PM

TRAILING runs about 10btdc@idle, drops negative on throttle, and then climbs to about 15btdc @wot

I would like to clarify that those are absolute numbers and that you did not mean split instead of btdc.

Otherwise, they'd be running 15 degrees negative split at idle... !

That's a lot of split for an NA. hmmmm....

j9fd3s 09-22-2006 12:55 AM

it was 2 different cars, on 2 different runs. i'd like to get screen shots, we can do it, but jack knows

Yeah those graphs would be really interesting to see. Just out of curisosity would the renesis have different timing needs than the older 13b's do the different porting?
