Hi! i'm rebuilding the Renesis engine (RX-8, HP)

I've some failures with rear rotor and i don't have a new one. But i've 2 new front rotors. So this's the question. can i use the front rotor instead of the rear? Will the engine start up?

(any practical experience....)

Thanks a lot.

the bevel on the side for the port opening is the wrong way if you put a F rotor in the R...

While there will be a timing difference, I doubt that you will be able to detect it without a dyno. I have disassembled many engines, even factroy remans with leading pocket rotors on one end and center pocket on the other. Different weights, different compression ratios, sometimes with the wrong counterweights. They were all running the last time they were used. I would think the weight difference would be the important factor. Just get the weights the same, and build it.
