I was looking at my rotors and noticed that they are not completely smooth on the sides. What I mean is that it looks like it has ridges running down the sides. I thought the sides were supposed to be smooth

I have a pair of rotors of a 1st gen and they are smooth.

Do rotors differ from generation to generation???

This is my first FD rebuilt and I have never noticed this and am just curious.

there is a thread in the faq section that has some pics and dates to label them. usually if the markings are uniform or have pattern it is normal.

it seems like they had 2 machines. some of the rotors are really nice looking and some of them are really rough looking
