Wish me luck...I read all I could find. For sure I will have a smooth port with very gradual change of size. I am still not set on the size itself. I like to have high velocity to spool a big turbo fast but I obviousely don't like to restrict top end flow. Given the shape of the original port surroundings a 1.75 inch round whole seems to be the right number. Will I really melt my turbine wheel staying at that diameter all the way to the turbo?



As a side note, I have the option to get a ceramic turbine wheel. Man it ways next to nothing and can withstand a lot of heat. Unfortunanetly it is very sensitive to backfire. DOes anyone run a bridge or similar without getting backfire occasionally?

you mean a wheel completely made of ceramic? not a ceramic coated regular wheel?



btw how do those sleeves behave under long WOT ?



keep us updated how the sleeves work out

The wheel is made out of ceramic and ways less than have of a steel wheel....can you spell spool up...



I don't have any sleeves in my exhaust port. I closed the port and machined a new opening. But I will let you know how i turns out.

I learned the hard way that if you do not have an Inconel wheel, you will melt the turbine!

taper the exh. port to a 2.125" exit and run 2 1/4" primaries. it'll spool your turbo like crazy on anti lag. yeah the ceramic wheel spools great, but it is susceptible to disenigrating the instant it's integrity is compromised.



what are you gonna do w/ the side intake ports, are you keeping them or plugging them up?

I will keep the side intake. I have a dscent size secondary port and stock size just cleaned up primaries. The peripheral is only 1.25 inch in diameter.



My knock of manifold is 2.15 OD. You don't think the primaries at 2.25 will be to large?



As anyone on here know how the Magnus GT42R set-up worked out. They ran 2 inch primaries for high velocity to spool the beast. Just wonder if they suffered at the top end.



The ceramic wheel is definately a gamble. It is a specialty item. I am not sure who makes them. My turbo builder had one lawing around and is machining a t4 housing with a 45 center to fit it.
