personally, i'd tune over pinning. pinning seems to be less reliable

no personal experience with pinning, but it requires accurate machining, something which is basically impossible around here.



i do my own tuning, not making any claims of being good at it, but so far so good, havent lost a motor yet

man you close to illinois lol i have a basic tune using a microtech afraid to mess with timing left it to where it was when i first got it and never changed the it.

hey j9 what are running as far as timing on boost if you dont mind me asking understand if you dont.

depends on the setup, somewhere between 10-15btdc L i like to run a 15 degree timing split. if the boost is lower and the intercoolers good you can run a little more timing. if you get higher octane fuel (we get 91) you can run a little more.



also once the motors past the torque peak you can add a little more, so like on a stock t2 setup, i'm running 10degrees and it gradually ramps up to 15-16ish by redline... i run it pretty rich too, if its leaner, like in the 12's then less timing...
