After much blood, sweat and tears the front eccentric shaft bolt has been removed from my 13B.

Background info

- Torqued at the factory to 200 ft*lbs

- For some unknown reason, Mazda chose to loctite it

- Standard Loctite breaks down at 325 F

What didn't work

- 2' torque wrench (wrench broke)

- Propane torch applied for 15 minutes

- 1/4" rt angle bar bolted to flywheel (it broke)

- 1/2" socket with 4' breaker bar (wrench broke)

- Air tools at Discount Tire

- Two air tools at my local motorcycle mechanic

- Two air tools, a chain wrench, 2' breaker bar at my local Mazda dealer

- 1/2" and 3/4" (700+ ft*lbs) air tools at local Mazda specialist (adapter broke)

What did work

- 2' x 1/2" breaker bar with 4' x 1" steel pipe

- 3 minutes of oxygen + mapp gas torch applied to the bolt

Thank God it's over. Damn you Mazda and your Loctite

now if you had problems with the front one, how the hell you gonna get the flywheel off, most people come in here cursing at their mother's trying to get that **** off, i just use my air gun and it comes right off .

This bolt, that's the one that needs to be removed to do the oil pellet thing, right? How do I get to that, remove the fan? (for FC)

take off the fan and the crank pulley. but to take off the crank pulley you gotta take off the waterpump pulley. you have to take the pulley off so you can take the hub off... i think Im too lazy to go double check by looking at my motor lol, and its cold outside.

Maybe something to do with the FD clutch.

Short 19mm socket, 1/2in Craftsman rachet and heavy sledge hammer. Place socket on rachet and then place on bolt, smack rachet handle with heavy sledge hammer. Has never failed me and has always worked on the first strike. And if the gears get damaged on the rachet take it back to Sears and get a new one.
