Can people post pictures of their porting tools? I just want a idea what eveyone uses and some pictures of the finished work (ports).. Thanks..

okie, the double cut carbide is used for hoggin' that **** out...

single cust is for smoothing it right before the sanding



your question of how do you get the ports smooth--that's the sanding drums. i have different mandrel lengths from 2-6" and grits ranging from 60-320, then an emery paper for polishing the very closing edge.



long bits are good for the primary runners--where the other ones might not reach



stones are good for deburring the runners ($1 each, compared to a $16-23 carbide burr)



dremel stuff is great for cutting bridgeports-where you need less removal and more control than a die grinder could provide you with.

what do you "need" to get it done....



i'd say the 1/4" cut carbide bit is indispensable, and the 6" mandrel with the sanding wheels. it's not very convenient to do EVERYTHING with just that, but you can get pretty good results.

i found those on ebay a while ago...thought they might come in handy one of these days. i got a pile of them for like $20 shipped.
