13B-rew with 2mm 2 piece atkins apex seals. everything else is stock except for the magic fairy dust I sprinkle in the engine before starting.

no extra balancing or anything was done before assembly?

none. I have never had problems with the engine...just tuning errors. I've blow 2 motors. My first one I accidentally swapped the trailing front with the trailing rear coils...needless to say...It cracked all the apex seals on the top Then my second motor, I boosted 2.6 kilos...but was tuned to .8 kilos ...



I've been revving to 9.5k forever...I know that IGY and Dragon do the same thing. Never had problems with apex seals floating.

interesting, thanks for the input. I queried mazdatrix on the subject back when I was building my engine, so alot of my #'s have been based on their information.



i'm going to start looking into an engine dyno.

Ive heard that S4 motors should not be revved too high because of the flywheel, is there any truth to this?

Yes. Just look at an S4 flywheel and imagine the centrifical force on all that metal as it spins past 8000 rpm.

what if you have a lightened fw? Will it make a difference then?
