i have a 85 gs with a 12a and i am costantly revving the **** out of it, like 8k wise?? but i had come to realize wile testing the tach for my fc

that my stock tack slows down at 7k (when the buzzer hits) and that when i thought i was revving at 7500 it was actualy revving at 8500!

it makes me wonder how high i took it when i took the stock tack to 8k!

before i had my fc everyone,(well this guy who put a built 350 into his fc (boooo) told me that you could rev rotarys to whatever you wanted. so i tried one night and got the rev limit at 8 so i got scared. im not trying to blow my engine! of course. but im just trying to make sure. i appreciate your responce spiney, by the way i added you to my aim buddy list. but yeh i would love to rev my fc like that cause it kills all the local hondas. i just wanna make sure that im not gonna be out an engine. im at sea level so atmospheric pressure wont affect me, so im sorry but i need just a little more input. but i do highly appreciate your response brother. let me know if you ever come my way any rotary driver is welcome at my house for a good time with me and my chicas. just hit me up! late

you can't rev it to whatever you want, but with your setup 8000rpm should not be a problem... around 8500+ things start getting interesting, things like apex seal float, eccentric shaft flex, and stationary gears start coming into play, along with the obvious oil pressure.

my fuel cut is at 8000 rpm, so i souldnt have anything to worry about,? right? i cant go past 8 so with street prting and 3mm apex seals the only thing bothering me is the rev limit buzzer? as long as i dont blow my engine that wont bothet me. im jusy trying to make sure everything is within the triangle limits. cause i have fun killin the local hondas at 7.5 to 8 rpms, as long as its safe. im about the only rotary owner in the area that gives a **** about my/his/her car cause i paid fully for it. the rest of the kids that got it for free i could give a rats *** about! heh. ill be laughing when they blow a seal. little *******.

the 3mm seals arent that happy over 7500rpm

2mm seals can see 8500+ all day

what about for a stock motor? I know the redline is there for a reason, but what rpm's can it see regularly without significant wear?

I floor mine and let it bounce off the rev limiter all the time.

I set the rev limiter at 8500 rpm.

Never had any problems.

the 3mm will just start floating @ lower rpm due to the higher mass over the 2mm, correct? it will still rev there just lose power due to the floating, i think
