Thumbs down

Hey all,

I found these photos last week, and was surprised that I haven't seen any buzz about this here or on the other rx7 boards. Just wanted to share these because I'm excited that Mazda is finally doing some serious development work with the rotary engine. I remember chatting with a few people from the UC Berkley miniature silicon RE project, and they said that a thinner but larger diameter rotor was a more efficient design than the 13B geometry.

I'm planning to visit the LA Autoshow this week, hopefully there will be a 16X there also. If so, I'll take more photos.

Mmmm direct injection and aluminum "irons"

Can't wait to beat the snot out of whatever that thing will be in.

Anyone dare to guestimate power output? Im guessing somewhere around 280.

Hope it works out well.

the direct injected ones seem to be the secondarys. cause the primarys are still in the center primary plate like they always have been.

i dont see there being 6 injectors, so i think the manifolds will be fuel free.

It appears to have 6 ports. So with a hogged out end iron? made into one port and a set of big bridge ports,

How about 340 HP at 9,000 RPM. Give one of these to Daryl Drummond and Paul Yaw and stand back............

This display is a 4 port engine. The side plates are case the same as the Renesis 4 port and have the same hole but it's not fully drilled for the aux port. Notice the 90 degree angle (on post #2 7th pic) on the lower half of where the aux port would be.
