Opps... Posted on my freinds name
My MSDs have spoiled me, but a quick check for secondary ignition breakdown, is to gap the plugs down to .010" and stick them back in.

If it cures the problem, the ignition system is suspect. The system may be at the limit of performance for that much boost and RPM, or a component may be loosing good contact. Could be as easy as a dying plug.

A single plug can look fine but be leaking voltage across a dirty ceramic.

This where an MSD ruins your trouble shooting skills. It will fire the plug anyway.

Dirty or not. oil covered or not. too much gap or not.

I run all 4 plugs at .010" all the time, and have no breakup problems up to 9,600 RPM.

Picture is a fatigue failure of the forward attach point for the top link from the differential (Speedway Engineering quick change). It should have been a double shear joint. It is a single shear joint, and applies a torsional load to the tube. Even so, it did last for 5 years.

NGK 9's all around
I think the spark plugs are too hot, or run a CDI as Lynn has mentioned.

RB OPR

RB harden stationary gears

Theres no real reason why i want to go to 8k i guess. But the previous motor made 405rwhp @7,800rpm. So why not go to 8k? On the my dyno the HP dosent fall off, so why not go another 1k to make more hp

My main goal is 450rwhp @15psi. If brians dyno was right with the 405rwhp @15psi , then i m hoping i shouldnt have much of a problem getting 450 with all ports being 15% bigger. Of course with good tunning
There's no reason to be revving that high just for bragging rights.

You're getting awefully close to the 8,500RPM resonance that can KILL motors.

Bearings shift, tension bolts come loose, and things break...

"RB OPR" can either mean the "street" version or the "race" version - you really need the race version that is over 100psi, deeper bearings, damped tension bolts, etc.

Im not doing it for bragging rights at all ted. I previous motor made peak hp at 7800, so i didnt think there was anything wrong with it... everyone spoke so highly of brian ( atleast on Evil forum ) i figured if he had the motor reving that high then it was fine...

And to add to your delima.....If your ports are a 15% increase from what the "Brian" had you should have no reason to want to rev to 7800rpm to make the same or more than the 405hp the"Brian" made. If all things equal you should easily be making the same or more with less stress on the motor.

So remedy your ign problem first, before going # hunting.

Ted- Brian Schuering... not sure if last names spelled right... Hes a real cool guy. Sorry brian for bringing you into this thread, it was not intentional, i was just merly trying to explain myself and why i was so set on going to 7,800rpm... And your motor was the main reason

Boost Creep... I never had any intentions of boosting more till i get this problem fixed... I know for a fact ill get more HP then brians motor at same Psi, thats obvious, but my Goal is to get 450 at the same psi he got the 405

When i went to the dyno the plugs were new / are new. I have 8.5mm magnacore Wires. Obviously stock coils. So do i go with MSD coils?

Also im going to be at the RotorFest on Sunday, are they offering any tunning there??
